La Soufriere Volcano HikeHike with us to the top of the 4000 feet high Volcano from the Leeward side of St. Vincent. The La Soufriere Volcano in St. Vincent is 4,048 feet above sea level.
The crater is a spectacular sight and the view couldn't be better.
During the walk you will find your self surrounded by beautiful and unspoiled nature.
We offer one day hikes from the Leeward side where Richmond Vale Nature and Hiking Center is located.
If you are on a Yacht, you can anchor up in Chateaubelair Bay or Cumberland Bay; both are close to our center. You can also stay with us overnight and go on the hike early the next morning.
This is a tougher hike than on the Windward side, but it is worth it. It is more scenic and what you can't beat is that you end up on the beach and can take a swim in the Caribbean sea to cool off when you come down.
The walk from our center and to the top takes 2.5 - 3 hours, you spend maybe 1/2 hour at the top and it takes 1-2 hours for the walk down depending on how many photo stops you make, so all in all the hiking is 5-6 hours and when you add a drive from Kingstown and back you can add 3 hours, so it is definitely a full day tour.
The tour includes transportation from Kingstown or Villa or the airport (only if you are 4 or more), a guide, an introduction, snacks and water to take on the hike and lunch when you come back to our Center.
The tour starts with pick-up at 7 am.
Wear good hiking boots or strong trainers, long socks to mid thigh and bring a long sleeve shirt and a light rain jacket. If the clouds are low then it can be cold at the top. It is ok to wear shorts. |
